The Business, Education, and Community Alliance is a local non-profit co-founded in 1989 by the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce and the Superintendent of Schools. Our name accurately describes our mission: to build partnerships among the local business and broader community and the school system. Like everyone, we are interested in student success and sponsor programs toward this end: specifically the Passport to the Future (see participant list) and related BECA Scholarship Program (see 2006 Scholarship Application).

BECA is affiliated with the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce and is supported by major employers and educators in our community such as SMECO, St. Mary’s Hospital, Anteon Corporation, St. Mary’s County Board of Education, and the College of Southern Maryland.
