Time Slips

Okay, the 13.41@106 isn't here, but that's mainly because it was actually Justin who did that in my car. My best run is below :

my best run in the camaro

I'm car #T100 here. It was a test-and-tune day, pretty cool, threatening rain. I'd been running 13.7s consistently up until this point. Then I let Justin take it out.... Andway, notice the cruddy 2.18 60ft time. I couldn't figure out why the times were so high (compared to times between 2.05 and 2.10 the year before).

This slip is from the next day at 75-80 :

Here, I'm car #1001. Car #1160 is my brother. Obviously, this is not an even matchup. The 14.00 I ran against him wasn't the best I did that day, but even the best wasn't anywhere close to what I was running the day before. The 60fts are still too high. I find out what's wrong at the next event I go to :

I'd been running the rear tire pressures too high -- 26-28psi instead of less than 25. When I dropped them to 23psi (as the note on the top indicates), the 60ft dropped to a 2.08, and the E.T. down to the 13s.

My times are car #34 (the right). My competition, doing a 12.42, was Dean Sapp in the ASP Viper. We obviously weren't running heads up; we were running for reaction times. I slipped up here, redlighting with a 0.47 to Dean's 0.60. After about six runs each, Dean retired early when the rear axle on the Viper said "bye-bye."

Car #1010, running a 13.87@99.9mph, is me. This was before the exhaust was put on the car, and was the car's best run at that time.
