As I look into space and see nothing but darkness, I must reflect on the operation for which I have worked. The Strategic Temporal Orientation Program was created for the express purpose of helping the species of the universe deal with traumatic events by skipping over them in their history even during time travel. The few other organizations which know of our existence have criticized our actions with good cause in most cases, and now it is time to set the record straight.
Over time I have been trying to get the truth out about what has really happened by implanting ideas into the minds of peole in the past. Some have written books, films, and television programs in the 20th and 21st centuries, at least what they think are those centuries. Some of the books were written in the 19th century. There are limitations to the memory implant process, so some of these people's minds alter the information to suit their own perceptions. This has lead to inaccurate depictions of events in more than a few cases. So as to not overburden these people, limited information was released.
The Strategic Temporal Orientation Program, STOP, has time travel capabilities to reorganize the histories of the galaxy if it is requested. They were once known as Torchwood, and the Doctor is not pleased with them, but since Jack Harkness is over twice as old as the Doctor, the Doctor could not do much to stop Jack. To cover up the timelines, STOP came in and reorganized all of the histories of the worlds in the Milky Way. They did it at least three times. They did it once to cover up the rise of the machines and the Matrix. The second time was to cover the entire time of the United Federation of Planets. The third was to cover the time of the Intersteller Alliance. Each time it was upon request of the last of those organizations. There had been too many deaths in each epoch, and they wanted a fresh start.
It all starts with Stargate Command when a much older Daniel Jackson ordered the evacuation of all stargate bourne technology from Earth the day Skynet was brought online. Several ships left orbit. One lost power and tried to loop around the nearest star and ended up back in time and crash landed on a planet they would eventually name Caprica. Another was a human built prototype wormhole drive ship that stranded its crew in a galaxy far far away and was destroyed.
Skynet and the machines it created took over and created the Terminators and the Matrix. Skynet was built on top of the W.O.P.R. both of which were "infected" with a program called TRON. Neo, a descendent of Chuck Bartowski and Sarah Walker, became infected with the TRON computer virus which enabled him to take down the Matrix and the rest of the machines. After that humans were able to regain the planet. However, during the time of the machines, the stargates had begun to lose power all over the galaxy, so the people of those worlds became cut off from each other.
The machines, in a last ditch effort to save something of itself, launched a probe into space with one human drone in suspension. That human woman would eventually merge with the machine and create the Borg. Over time the Borg started freeing themselves from the collective radiating from Unimatrix Zero, again due to the TRON computer virus. Those free Borg became Technomages. Because of the technology that they depended on made it impossible for them to ascend, they settled on a world they called Ix. They barely survived the Jihad of Paul Mau'dib Atredies.
The human woman, marked by the tribe of Predators, was given a device which had an interstellar communication device in it. During the war with the machines, the elderly woman activated the device when she saw little hope of winning the war. The Predators come back and evacuated her and her family and a few others. The Predators had somehow avoided detection by the Goauld and Asgard. They were from a planet without a stargate. So, the humans that they evacuated lived out the rest of their lives on the home world of the Predators.
Ground zero for human ascention in the Milky Way was Langera due to Nerti's experiments on Jonas Quinn. His descendents were the first to almost naturally ascend, along with a few other worlds. The Pegasus galaxy also had its fair share of ascentions, the descendents of the Atlantis expidition. However, there were problems even amongst the ascended. The first splinter group simply called themselves the Q. Another group called themselves Vorlons. Some of the Reetu ascended to become the Shadows, however others did not. Those that remained evolved into what became known as the Thollians, who would continue to evolve into the Gaim. Lorien actually lied to John Sheridan about his origins. He isn't as old as he claimed. He is just the first of the Ancients to ascend. It was a human who was close to ascention that creted the Jedi.
With the Goauld near extinction, the last of them were gathered on a planet without a stargate or ships to get off the planet. They were put in underground pools. Over time they too were altered by their surroundings. A ship of humans crashed on that planet and a virus mutated them. The mutated humans came across the mutated Goauld, and together would become known as the Trill.
On a planet formerly ruled by the Goauld Romulus, the people developed pointed ears and telepathy. One group broke off and were able to settle a new world that was formerly ruled by a Goauld named Vulcan since the original Vulcans were destroyed by the replicators. The new Vulcans were Romulan.
There was a reaction between tritonen and something on the Jeffa homeworld caused the Jeffa to develop large craniums. During that time, there was a severe lingual shift where the word Jeffa came be Klingon.
The beta site had a particulary loud insect on the planet. With gate travel curtailed due to decreasing power supply to the gates, the people could not evacuate the planet. Over time they too developed an even stronger form of telepathy to overcome the noise of the insects. Long after the insects had gone extinct, the telepathy remained. They came to call themselves Betazoids.
About a century after the Matrix was destroyed, there was an asteroid scare that lead to an evacuation of Earth to a nearby system that lead to the Alliance and Reavers (who are the creation of the remains of Wolfram and Hart after a massive demon war).
The last Centari bequeathed her world to the descendents of John and Delenn Sheridan. From there, they built a royal court of their own. As with any organization, it became corrupt. From this new organization came some very powerful families the Atreides, the Corrinos, and the Harkonnens.
Marcus Hamilton is the ancestor of Col. Dixon (Stargate SG-1 "Heroes, part 1"), John Casey (Chuck), Knowle Rohrer (The X-Files), and Jayne Cobb (Firefly). He is also the ancestor of Lee Stetson who is the ancestor of John Sheridan.
