Geoworks Bindery is an electronic book authoring system. E-books are
page-based, hyperlinked documents combining text and graphics. Bindery runs on a
PC and includes the Bindery editor (very similar to GeoWrite), GeoDraw, samples,
clip art, help files, and the freely distributable Geoworks Book Reader.
Features
- Format documents with full-featured word processor and drawing program. No
programming is required of content publishers to produce electronic books
quickly and easily.
- Structure documents using hyperlinking, graphical hot spots, and rich
formatting. These features enable books to have rich display and highly
structured content.
- Import existing content and compose new material. New titles can become
available quickly by leveraging existing properties.
- Once in electronic book form, content reformats itself for the consumer's
specific viewing device. Using Geoworks patented flexible user interface
technology, titles created on one platform can also be distributed for any
other GEOS platform.
- View features are fully controllable. The author controls the consumer's
interaction with the content by tailoring the viewer features to the content.
The document can be easily navigated, making information more accessible to
the consumer.
Geoworks Book Reader
Geoworks Book Reader views documents created with
Geoworks Bindery. The Book Reader provides the navigation, search, and printing
features necessary to use an electronic book. Book Reader works with any
GEOS-based device, so that electronic books can be created for the Zoomers, the
Sharp PT-9000 tablet, the HP OmniGo 100 PDA, the brother's GeoBook and future GEOS-based devices.
Book Reader is freely distributable and is available with NewDeal Office and Breadbox Ensemble also.
